Running with style Mr. Runner 2: The Masks is a sequel to the original Mr. Runner. Updating the graphics to be much more colorful and detailed game, Mr. Runner 2: The Masks retains its addictive arcade gameplay. Red light, Green light The core of Mr. Runner 2: The Masks has you guiding Mr. Runner through different stages. He is always running, even in the menu screen where you can access your inventory, store, and different worlds that are unlocked by collecting stars in levels. As you play, you collect coins, stars, chests, and keys. Coins let you buy powerups, stars open new worlds, and keys open collected chests. There are different types of chests from bronze, silver, and gold, each holding different items. There are collectible masks in these chests that you can wear. There are in-app purchases in Mr. Runner 2: The Masks, but they are not necessary because the game gives you a lot of coins as you play through levels. Simple controls, challenging gameplay Controls are simple, you tap and hold the left side of the screen to slow down and tap and hold the right side to speed up and sprint. There is rechargeable meter for sprinting and it's important to use it carefully. Each level in Mr. Runner 2: The Masks contain different challenges. The first world has you running through caves that rise and fall. If you do not run carefully, the ceiling will fall and kill you. In the second world, there is a whale that shoots water and coins out of its spout. The water can kill you so you have to avoid it as it falls. Each world has a different theme. It would have been easy to copy and paste similar worlds, but Mr. Runner 2: The Masks has a great amount of variety providing a lot of gameplay. Polished visuals and lots of fun Mr. Runner 2: The Masks is a big step up from the original Mr. Runner. Just from the visual improvements, the collectible aspect of the game keeps it interesting. It is actually fun to go back and replay past levels to try to collect all the items. One small issue is that sometimes the game doesn't register the controls so you accidentally die in a level without meaning to. It does not happen often, but at unfortunate times. There is a lot to content to enjoy in Mr. Runner 2: The Masks, especially if you are a completists and want to collect all the masks in the game. Good for commutes Each stage in Mr. Runner 2: The Masks only takes a few minutes and is a perfect pick-up-and-play game. The amount of content in the game is great. If you are looking for an endless runner, Mr. Runner 2: The Masks is not that type of game because it adds more personality and humor that makes the gameplay experience excellent.
